Good morning Sun

‘Good night Sun. Good night. Bring something good with you tomorrow, please, and I will try to write something beautiful, to offer you’, the girl said to the Sun. And then she was lost in the shadows, behind the hill.
The Sun was surprised! It had been centuries since someone spoke to him. It was not that this girl had something special. Or that he used to deal with such kind of requests. It was just... It has been a while that no one had asked him anything at all, no one had promised him anything.
It was so different when people worshiped him. At that time, he did not care about the dreamy little girls. Perhaps that's why they had forgotten him now. He was not a good god. He did not really care, as much as he had convinced himself of the opposite. He was just resting on his accountability and his diligence in his basic duty to exist. To just Be. So, he reassured his conscience.
Though, he did have every right to be arrogant, one could say. And he was indeed recognized by all, as generous ‘to righteous and unjust’ equally. It was thanks to him that everything existed. The mortals should not have any further claims from him.
And take him now... Burning his core on the idea that a girl will write something for him, that tomorrow he might come to read it. That he might have made a new friend. That, maybe, he can participate in another story. A story that does not just reach the numbers to tell his orbit. He missed those so much.
The mortals went up and down, always complaining about the weather, and always participating in stories. The mortals were stroking, falling in love, fighting, crying and laughing. They were living. And He? He was simply orbiting, with compulsive mathematical precision, into the vast and lonely universe. Forced to vampirize the stories from the mortals, to pass his time, because he did not have his own.
How could he not see his conceit? He... the god that brings the Light! And what if he would have decided to do the grace to the girl? What could he possible offer her that would convince him again of his omnipotence?
He only just existed. That’s all. Once that was sufficient for men to sacrifice other men in his name! How Egoist was he? He may have "burned out" his divine karma with all that. He thought that the only thing he can offer her, he finally concluded, is tomorrow to come out for her sake and to wait for her.
The next day, there was no miracles. The girl did not find that day any treasure, nor any unicorn! In fact, the girl was afraid to go out without having written anything about the Sun, as she promised him. The girl knew to be afraid of the gods, but she was in a hurry. People was waiting for her. So, she took the first step out of her door and looked up, with the required awe. The Sun was hidden behind clouds. And the Sun was ashamed to see that the girl was afraid of him. She always avoided anyone she was afraid of. How had he not seen that the path of fear leads to loneliness?
The girl took a deep breath and decided not to be afraid of the Sun, for she suddenly felt an even deeper love for him! She felt like… like if the Sun had only come out for her today! And she did not mind that he was hidden, behind the clouds. Maybe it was because she did not write anything to him yet. Still, he was there. Lightning up the path for both ‘righteous and unjust’ and, secretly… only for her.
Because she was talking to him. Because, the Sun wanted a new friend.
And so, she wrote, as soon as she found some time, a story, for a girl who was talking to the Sun. Then, she looked up at the sky, she read her story to the Sun, and she promised to always speak to him. Straight away, the clouds fled, and the Sun enlightened the girl. And they smiled to each other.
"Good morning Sun. Good morning".
